National Scholarship Portal: How to Register

To register on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP), follow these steps:

  1. Visit the official website: Open your web browser and go to the National Scholarship Portal website. The URL for the portal is https://scholarships.gov.in/.
  2. Click on “New Registration.”  On the homepage of the portal, you will find the “New Registration” option. Click on it to begin the registration process.
  3. Select the appropriate category: On the registration page, you will be asked to select the appropriate category of scholarship. Choose the category that matches your eligibility criteria and click on it.
  4. Read the guidelines: Before proceeding with the registration, carefully read the guidelines provided on the page. These guidelines will provide you with important information about the scholarship scheme, eligibility criteria, and application process.
  5. Fill in the registration form: After reading the guidelines, you will find the registration form on the same page. Fill in the required details accurately. The information typically includes personal details such as name, date of birth, email address, mobile number, and bank account details.
  6. Choose a login ID and password. Create a login ID and password of your choice. Make sure to choose a strong password that includes a combination of letters, numbers, and special characters. Remember these credentials, as they will be required for future logins.
  7. Enter the captcha code: In order to verify that you are a human user, enter the captcha code displayed on the registration page in the designated field.
  8. Review and submit the registration form. Once you have filled in all the required information, review the registration form to ensure that all details are correct. Make any necessary changes if required. Finally, click on the “Submit” button to submit your registration form.
  9. Receive the temporary registration number: After successfully submitting the registration form, you will receive a temporary registration number. Note down this number or take a screenshot of it for future reference.
  1. Complete the application form. Log in to the portal using your login ID and password. Complete the scholarship application form by providing all the necessary details, such as academic information, family income, and other relevant information.
  2. Upload the required documents: Upload the scanned copies of the required documents as mentioned in the scholarship guidelines. These documents may include your educational certificates, income certificate, caste certificate (if applicable), and any other supporting documents required for the scholarship scheme.
  3. Submit the application: Once you have filled in all the required information and uploaded the necessary documents, review the application form to ensure accuracy. After verifying, submit the application form.
  4. Note the application ID: After submitting the application, you will receive an application ID. Note down this ID or take a screenshot of it for future reference. The application ID will be useful for tracking the status of your application.
