The Central Regional Minister Honourable Mrs Justina Marigold Assan has led the Minister for Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development and some Entourage to pay a courtesy call on the Paramount Chief of Oguaa, Osabarima Nana Kwasi Atta II in Cape Coast.
The call was triggered on the grounds that the Sector Ministry was in the Region for a Three day zonal refresher course for MMDCEs from 3 Regions namely the Central, Western and Eastern Regions.
The Central Regional Minister in a short remark stated the purpose for the visit was to show up that they were in the region and sought Osabarima”s blessings on the purpose for the program by the Local Government Ministry.
She noted the Region would not have been chosen to this purpose if not for the best human relations of Oguaaman.
Hon. Assan added that it was on that grounds that governance she said was equallly key to all facets of the Central Regional Development plan.
Introducing himself and his Entourage to the Oguaahene, the Local Government Decentralization and Rural Development Minister and Member of Parliament for Okre Constituency, Honourable Daniel Botwe expressed his gratitude for the the reception warmly given to them by Central Region.
He also noted that local governance was key as well for the MMDCEs and very necessary for the Local Government Service to ocassionally factor in into its plan to enhance the. Expertise of MMDCEs in their administrative work as representatives of the President in their confines aiming at development and good governance.
Hon. Dan Botwe said the exercise which has been zoned into four would at the end of the day resort in equipping both new and old Chief Executives in executing proper and accountable administration.
Present with the two Ministers during the courtesy call were the Head of the Local Government Service, Dr. Ato Arthur, the Chief Director for the Central Regional Coordinating Council, Mr Kingsley Agyei Boahene and other DCEs represented in the three Regions.
Some items were presented to the Oguaamanhene for appreciation by the Local Government Ministry.
