Kotoko coach Ogum reportedly resigns

Asante Kotoko coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum is said to have resigned from the club.

According to reports, Ogum resigned three weeks before the start of the Porcupine Warriors’ pre-season due to a lack of transfer activity.

Kotoko have made no signings. They have lost key midfielders Fabio Gama and Mudasiru Salifu, and Etouga Mbella, their best player last season, is expected to leave the club due to strong interest from European and North African clubs.

It is said that Ogum met with the club’s management early Wednesday and informed them of his decision to leave with a year left on his contract.

Ogum who joined Kotoko from WAFA before the start of the 2021/22 season, won the Ghana Premier League with three games to spare.

He was expected to lead the club in next season’s CAF Champions League.
